Dr. Portmann completed his medical studies at the University of Bern and graduated in 2014. In the same year he received his doctorate as a medical doctor with the publication of his thesis on the influence of omega 3 fatty acids on human body weight. After a first employment as a military doctor and a subsequent employment as a resident in a family doctor’s practice, he worked at Langenthal Hospital in the Department of Internal Medicine and in the emergency and intensive care units. From 2016 he was employed for one year in the emergency ward of Burgdorf Hospital, where he was responsible for the care of surgical and accident patients. In 2017 he transferred to the internal medicine department of the Inselspital. Here he looked after both inpatients and outpatients. Finally, he worked as a senior physician in the emergency practice of the Inselspital (Fast Track) before taking up his position as a general practitioner in the Worb family practice in November 2019.
Dr. Portmann is a doctor and general practitioner with joy and enthusiasm. He loves working with people and has been committed to improving their quality of life since the beginning of his medical career. He is married and father of three children. In his free time he likes to hike and loves to be out in nature.
